About Horizons

Welcome to Horizons Elementary!

We are the home of the Eagles and serve preschool through 5th grade in Lacey, WA. At Horizons, we recognize the diverse backgrounds of all of our students and families and are committed to providing opportunities for every student to achieve academically, socially, and emotionally. Our vision, “Everyone a Teacher, Everyone a Learner, Everyone a Success,” is lived out daily in all we do.

Goals & School Improvement Plan

Academic Gap Goal

From September 2024 to June 2025, reduce the difference between all student and student identifying as Hispanic demonstrating low risk on easyCBM in math by 10%

Behavioral or Social-Emotional Learning Gap Goal

Between September 2024 and June 2025, reduce the disproportionality in discipline referrals for African American students as measured by the SWIS risk index.

Building History

Horizons Elementary was built in 1992 on 16.4 acres. It is located at 4601 67th Avenue SE in Lacey. The 49,376 square foot building includes 31 instructional spaces, plus 13 portable classrooms.

  • In 2009, street frontage and storm-water drainage improvements were made, a new entrance and student drop-off was created, and the parking lot was sealed.
  • In 2010, Horizons received exterior building upgrades, including new paint and siding and selective roof repairs. 
  • In 2021, the school's roof was fully replaced.
  • In 2022, Horizons received new heating boilers.
